Dr. Mark Hosak is the author of several books drawing on his decades of research and practice. The books range from academic to practical, from the deeply historical to the lived experience of the path.
"The Siddham in Japanese Art — Rituals of Healing"
Mark's doctoral thesis, later published as a book. It traces the origins of Reiki, Kuji Kiri and Shingon — examining the Sanskrit syllables that form the spine of Japanese esoteric Buddhism. The book includes translations of Japanese and Chinese source texts and is one of the few academic treatments of these subjects in German-speaking scholarship.
The Wolf Shaman master path (2025)
A book about wolf shamanism, inner alchemy, and warrior initiation — the shamanic dimension behind the martial arts. Published 2025.
Forthcoming with Eileen Wiesmann
A new book on Shingon Reiki — written with Eileen Wiesmann, MA historian specialising in religious history. Co-authored from over seven years of joint Shingon Reiki practice.
Where to find the books
The books are available in German through major retailers. English translations of selected works are planned. For updates on new releases, the most direct route is to join the Japanese Grimoire Society.
